Hello,

How does one go about preventing or regulating http downloads? Is this the same as setting up a username and password for the folders I want to block from browsers, using "Password Protect Directories"? I have experimented and this seems to be the case but I'd like to make sure.
Does the protection here include both browser access and ftp, or do I need to handle these independently?

I see that I can set up user/password sets for this in the Security section, "Password Protect Directories".
And set up security for ftp in the Files section of the control panel.

Is it possible to have just a password instead of user name and password? I'd like to email someone with a link to a file to download and just have them use a password (or just a username).

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
